Manufacturing Assembly Operative – Day and Back Shifts

Pay: £12.90–£16.91 per hour
Hours: Monday to Thursday – four-day working week

Aspired Talent is recruiting experienced Manufacturing Assembly Operatives for a leading manufacturer of temperature-controlled and refrigerated commercial vehicles.

Full-time opportunities are available across both the day shift and back shift.

Shifts and pay rates
Day shift

Monday to Thursday, 6:30am–4:30pm

£12.90–£14.09 per hour

Back shift

Monday to Thursday, 4:30pm–2:30am

4:30pm–10:00pm: £12.90–£14.09 per hour
10:00pm–2:30am: £15.48–£16.91 per hour, including the back-shift premium

The back-shift premium is paid only for hours worked between 10:00pm and 2:30am. Hours worked before 10:00pm are paid at the applicable standard rate.

Starting pay and progression to the higher fully trained rates will depend on previous experience, successful completion of training and passing the required competency assessments.

Overtime
Up to six hours of overtime is paid at time and a half
Overtime exceeding six hours is paid at double time
About the role

As a Manufacturing Assembly Operative, you will prepare insulated panels and fabricated components used in the production of temperature-controlled and refrigerated commercial vehicles.

You will use a range of machinery and hand tools to produce accurate, high-quality components that meet customer specifications and industry standards.

Key responsibilities
Operating press beds, CNC machinery and guillotines
Using hand and power tools safely
Measuring, cutting and shaping materials accurately
Working from technical drawings and production instructions
Preparing and assembling insulated panels and fabricated components
Conducting quality checks throughout the manufacturing process
Ensuring finished components meet the required specifications
Following standard operating procedures
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Candidate requirements
Previous manufacturing or production experience is essential
Experience using machinery and hand tools
Good attention to detail
A quality-focused approach to work
Ability to follow technical instructions accurately
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliability and commitment to the selected shift
Ability to occasionally lift materials weighing up to 20kg
A good understanding of workplace health and safety

The starting rate and progression within the advertised pay range will be determined by:

Relevant manufacturing experience
Existing skills and technical ability
Successful completion of training
Passing the required competency assessments
Ability to work independently to the required quality and productivity standards

The highest rates apply to experienced, fully trained operatives who have successfully completed the required training and assessments.
