Maintenance Engineer

Aspired Talent is recruiting an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our client’s busy manufacturing facility in Blackburn.

– Location: Blackburn, Lancashire
– Shift Pattern: 4 On, 4 Off
– Shifts: 2 Earlies / 2 Lates
– Hours: 7am–7pm / 7pm–7am
– Shift Length: 12 hours
– Shift allowance £3k

The Role

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to ensure production machinery and equipment operate safely, efficiently and reliably.

Key Responsibilities:

– Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs.
– Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
– Maintain and repair production machinery, conveyors, motors and automated equipment.
– Identify recurring faults and implement improvements to minimise downtime.
– Support machinery installations, commissioning and equipment upgrades.
– Work closely with production teams to maximise machine availability.
– Maintain accurate maintenance records and comply with Health & Safety procedures.

What We’re Looking For

– Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
– Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
– Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
– Knowledge of PPM and reactive maintenance.
– Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
– Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
– Relevant engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience.
